This Google resource accumulates the latest industry facts and frames together in one place.
These have been collected from a number of third party vendors covering a range of topics from macroscopic economic and media trends to behavioral chages in consumer tastes and technology advancement over time.
Google’s Internet Stats provides diversified and comparative statistics on dynamic industrial & commercial environment
The categories of statistics include: – Consumer Trends – Community – Entertainment – Information – eCommerce – Macro Economic Trends – Rest of the World – UK – Media Consumption – Changes in Media Usage – Demographic Usage – Media Consumption Stats – Media Multi-tasking – Personalised Media Experiences – Media Landscape – All Media – Online – Technology – Broadband – Devices – Mobile – Speed
• There are no plans to launch this tool elsewhere at the moment. This is a UK-only initiative.
• Any stats submitted by users will be verified by Google’s market research teams
• Google license data from a number of sources, as well as bring together publicly reported facts and stats from the web (sources shown on the site)
Basically, it’s another of Google’s “structured search” efforts, this time taking stats and studies from around the web, and making them available from a single tool.
This is potentially huge! If Google could make this a bona fide “labs” project, add more country-specific data, and fix the search box, this could be a much beneficial.
