As per the company website, “Facebook Lite is a faster, simpler way to keep in touch with your friends.
If you like it, you may choose to use it instead of the regular Facebook.”
The popular social networking site last month introduced improved search features that facilitate users to search for news feeds, status updates, photos, links, and videos.
It started offering Friendfeed, an aggregator of posts from a variety of social networking sites last month.
Company officials said that it plans to roll out the new lighter version in countries where lots first-time users are looking to begin with a more simple experience.
The site was first launched in the US and India.
